Transforming Carnegie together

Glen Eira is changing, with new developments, level crossing removals and station works.

This page will keep you up to date with the changes happening in Carnegie and let you join in the conversation to help shape the future of your shopping strip.

Consultations

Stage four: Quality design principles - consultation has now closed

Council sought feedback on its Quality Design Principles which introduce design principles and preferred building types for Glen Eira. The Principles respond to community concerns about development in Glen Eira, as well as achieving the community’s aspirations for reinvigorated activity centres.

Stage five: Draft concept plans - consultation has now closed

Council sought feedback on its draft concept Plan for the Carnegie Activity Centre.

Feedback received about the Concept Plan will inform a draft Structure Plan which we will consult on in stage 6. A structure plan is a long-term plan that guides important aspects of an activity centre including development, land use, transport and car parking approaches, community facilities, public realm and open spaces and strategic opportunities. Structure plans provide certainty for the way an area will accommodate growth and change as supported by Council and the community.

Notes from the recent community forum are now available here.
