Council’s 2020–2021 draft Annual Budget and draft Council and Community Plan Commitments (including the Strategic Resource Plan) is now available for public comment.

We are confident that this Budget not only continues the effort that has commenced in recent years, but also provides the necessary investment for a successful future.

Our focus for the next year is to provide community leadership throughout the pandemic, and for the recovery process that follows, while continuing, as much as possible, to deliver on the projects and services that make our City a great place to live, work and do business.

In the draft 2020–2021 Budget, we have allocated $34.15 million for asset renewals, upgrades and expansions; open space initiatives; building improvements; community safety projects; and the renewal and upgrade of Council’s major infrastructure assets such as footpaths, drains and roads.

The draft Budget also includes information regarding your rates and residential garbage charges.

The opportunity to provide feedback closes on Wednesday 10 June 2020.

Submissions received to the proposed Budget and Council and Community Plan Commitments will be heard by Council at a Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 16 June. Any person who makes a submission is entitled to be heard in support of their submission at this meeting.

The following documents are available for your review in the document library:

  • 2020-2021 Draft Annual Budget
  • Draft Council Plan Commitments
  • 2020-2030 Strategic Resource Plan

Subject to any amendments resulting from the submissions, the Budget and Council and Community Plan will be considered for adoption at an Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 30 June 2020.
