What is a Community Plan?
The Community Plan sets out the strategic direction for Council for the next five years. It describes the priority issues identified by Council through an extensive process of community consultation. It also outlines the plans or actions that will be developed or implemented by Council.
How can I contribute to the development of a Community Plan?
This website is aimed at getting people talking and discussing issues about the City of Glen Eira. You can contribute by joining in the online discussion on the forum discussion link. We strongly encourage your opinions and discussions on the online forum.
The online discussion forum will form part of the consultation process, however Glen Eira City Council will also be conducting public consultation sessions across the municipality during the month of February. More information about these forums is provided in the Key Dates section.

What consultation has been undertaken so far?
A random telephone survey of a representative sample of 500 residents was conducted by an independent social research firm in November 2011 to gain a broad understanding of the Glen Eira community, including measuring overall wellbeing, identifying priorities for action and assessing the importance of various issues for future planning.
Three focus group discussions of a dozen residents each for an hour and half were also conducted as part of the research to provide further qualitative data on the major themes identified in the telephone survey.
A report of the outcomes of the 500 telephone surveys and three focus groups is contained in the Library of this webpage.
