As part of the long-term vision for Elsternwick, Council is planning to transform the Elsternwick Library into a new Community Hub.
Construction of the Hub is some years away, but the first stage of planning is starting now.
The Hub will bring together library, kindergarten, maternal and child health services and provide new community open space.
What else would you like to see in your new Elsternwick Community Hub?
We invite you to tell us what kind of experience you would like to have at the new Hub and the types of services you would like to see. For example:
Early years support services such as new parents groups, immunisation programs and parent education programs.
Spaces for young people to study, collaborate and engage in programs.
Programs to promote lifelong learning and social connections.
Lounge and public reading areas.
Exhibition spaces for arts, heritage and history.
Maker spaces for craft, media and recording.
Co-working spaces to support business innovation and tech start-ups.
Other ideas – café, play equipment, outdoor civic spaces and performance space.
