What is a Public Health and Wellbeing Plan?

    Glen Eira City Council’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021 is a strategic document that aims to enhance the health and wellbeing of Glen Eira residents. It is a legal requirement under Section 26 of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 that Councils ‘must prepare a municipal public health and wellbeing plan within the period of 12 months after each general election of the Council’. The Plan Identifies the health and wellbeing needs of the Glen Eira community and outlines Council’s priorities in partnership with stakeholders in the municipality for the next four years. It provides an overview of health and wellbeing in the Glen Eira community and outlines Council’s progress to date, our aspirations for health and wellbeing and a set of strategies for achieving these aspirations.

    Your feedback will be used to inform activities that will form an Action Plan to accompany Council’s Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021

    What will happen next?

    Council will work with key partners including the local community, internal business units, service providers and the State Government to develop and implement an annual Action Plan to accompany the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan. The final Plan and Action Plan will be presented to Council for endorsement.
