Quality Design Guidelines

Council recently sought feedback on its Quality Design Guidelines which provide direction for future residential, commercial, mixed use and urban renewal development for the whole of Glen Eira.

The purpose of this document is to:
>> Respond to the aspirations of the Glen Eira community and to deliver on the vision for our neighbourhoods.
>> Encourage a high level of architectural design in new development for Glen Eira.
>> Provide clear direction on Council’s expectations for new development in Glen Eira.
>> Support and supplement existing design guidance provided by the Glen Eira Planning Scheme, Better
Apartments Design Standards and Guidelines, and other State Government guidelines.

Following this round of consultation, the draft Quality Design Guidelines will be presented to Council in February along with feedback received in order for Councillors to consider adoption of the Strategy. There will be a further opportunity for submissions when the Planning Scheme Amendment is exhibited next year.
