Consultation has concluded
The Glen Eira City Council’s Transport Advisory Committee will be hosting a Transport Forum
Monday 12 September - 7pm–9pm
Glen Eira Town Hall — Caulfield Cup Room, Corner Glen Eira and Hawthorn Roads, Caulfield
This Forum will provide interested community members with the opportunity to engage with the committee members and each other with respect to transport related issues and opportunities within Glen Eira.
A discussion paper that highlights the key themes that will be discussed at the forum can be found in the document library to the right.
If you are unable to attend the forum you can provide feedback through the brainstormer tab below by adding your own idea or voting for ideas which you support.

People before cars
There is barely any assisted crossing facilities to help people cross Koornang Rd safely. This is especially evident where needed most. eg Koornang Park, Carnegie primary school. Currently people are cut off (esp. children) from freely and safely accessing recreational areas by foot or bicycle. The issue of islandisation needs to be addressed as part of improving the community and livability.

Glenhuntly Road Level Crossing
Canvas State Government to remove both Glenhuntly Road and Neerim Road crossings with a rail over bridge. Shift tracks to the west between Glenhuntly Rd and Neerim Rd to allow redevelopment alongside new bridge along western side of Station Place.

North Road Ormond
Now that Ormond level crossing has been removed, canvas VicRoads to reduce traffic lanes from 3 to 2 each way with 40 km/hr speed restriction, so that median strip can be widened for safer pedestrian refuge and landscaping, and indented parking bays provided along entire shopping strip (possibly with wider footpaths). North Road is two lanes each way (ignoring local access lanes) from Grange Rd to Warrigal Rd, and so three lanes is unnecessary here in Ormond. There is a precedence for doing this with the reduction in traffic lanes on Mountain Highway Bayswater in the level crossing removal there.
