Engagement summary

Thank you to all Community Voice members who completed the November 2025 survey.

The survey was held from the 26 November to 10 December and explored:

  • the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Council’s services 🧠
  • the Glen Eira Circular Economy ♻️

See the tabs below for a summary of what we heard — and how we're using this feedback.

See the images below for a visual snapshot of what we heard, or read the engagement summary report.

AI in Council's services

  • Open-minded but cautious

Overall, respondents were open-minded but cautious about Council’s potential use of AI.

Many already use AI tools in their daily lives and can see potential benefits for efficiency and improved services if used responsibly.

However, they expect strong governance, transparent communication and careful management of risks.

  • How we’re using these insights

We’re exploring how AI could help improve the way we deliver services to our community.

As part of our Council Plan 2025–2029, we’re developing an AI Policy and Framework to guide a responsible, transparent and community centred approach to using AI within Council.

These insights will play an important role in shaping that work.

Glen Eira Circular Economy

  • Highly engaged in waste reduction

Respondents are highly engaged in waste reduction activities and support Council’s work to progress a circular economy.

Many are motivated by personal values, but they also identified barriers that make it harder for some community members to participate.

  • Informing our next Strategy

This feedback is directly informing our Circular Economy Strategy 2026–2030, now in development.

Later this year, the draft Strategy will be shared with the wider community for further feedback.
