Better Streets, Better Places

Our Better Streets, Better Places program is making our streets safer, more lively and easier to get around.

We have heard from our community that well-maintained activity centres are a top priority. With safety, enjoyment and greenery front of mind, we’re getting to work improving activity centres across the Glen Eira.

Our activity centres are the beating heart of our neighbourhoods, where people connect and our local businesses thrive.

From grandma buying fresh vegetables to dad walking the kids to school, our main streets are places of everyday connection.

With the your feedback top of mind, we’re making sure we maintain the character of each centre, making quality improvements while protecting the unique identity of our neighbourhoods.

How we're improving our main streets

Where we're making improvements

Through Better Streets, Better Places, we’ve identified street improvement opportunities in each of Glen Eira's activity centres.

This program provides Council with a clear, equitable plan for prioritising investment over the next ten years.

Further information on the priorities for each activity centre can be accessed in the full Better Streets, Better Places 2023–2033 program.
