Small project, big impact

Got an idea for a small project that could make a big difference in your neighbourhood? Share it with us — and let’s work together to bring it to life.

We’re seeking creative, community-led ideas to enhance Glen Eira’s activity centres — our busy local hubs where people meet, shop, and access local services — and where your project can have the greatest impact.

Your project should reflect local needs and interests, helping to create public spaces that are vibrant, welcoming, and safe for everyone.

The Community Place Project is a part of our Placemaking Strategy, which turns community ideas into real improvements. Last year, we received 31 incredible submissions, and five local projects are already complete!

Submissions are open until Sunday 28 September 2025, 11.59pm — so now’s the time to get involved.

Project submission 💡

Everyone is welcome to apply — individuals, schools, traders, and community groups. If you have a great idea, we’ll help you bring it to life. We'll choose two to four projects based on how well they align with the selection criteria.
