Round two projects ✨

Submission for the second round of the Community Place Project were open for four weeks, from 1 September to 28 September.

During this time, we invited ideas for projects that would make neighbourhoods more inviting, creative, and connected.

We received 19 creative submissions, and three projects were selected to deliver improvements in Murrumbeena, Bentleigh, and McKinnon.

See below for a summary of these projects — and we’ll keep you updated as they progress.

Think of it like a street library — but for art! Instead of swapping books, this project will showcase local artworks. It’s designed to be community-led, where residents can donate, swap or take pieces home. The gallery is planned for Murrumbeena Village.

We’re teaming up with local artist Pamela Irving and students from Bentleigh West to create a vibrant mural in Bentleigh. The exact location is still being explored, and we’ll share updates as plans progress.

Street poles in McKinnon are getting a creative makeover! This project will be delivered by a local artist and volunteers at the Glen Eira Adult Learning Centre.
